Gary Tier is the founder and president of Grey Elephant Consulting. He is also the owner and publisher of The Forwarders List of Attorneys (FLA), a leading directory of attorneys who specialize in Creditors’ Rights law. Founded in 1922, FLA has flourished under Gary’s leadership since 2007, becoming a premier resource for many of the world’s largest banks and financial services institutions.

 

Gary has been a leader of the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) since joining the organization in 2002. He currently serves on the Board of Governors and is President of the Association of Law List Publishers for the second time. He previously co-chaired the National Membership Committee and served on the Executive Council of both the Eastern Region and Young Members Section of the CLLA.

 

A sought-after speaker and panelist in the legal and financial services sectors, Gary attends more than a dozen industry conferences each year and visits clients all over the world. Gary is a member of a number of legal and financial trade associations, including Source Media, The Federation of European National Collectors Association, The American Collectors Association, The Debt Buyers Association, The International Association of Commercial Collectors, The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys, and The National Association of Subrogation Professionals.

 

Gary is an active member of the Princeton Chamber of Commerce and is current the Chair of the Princeton Region Young Professionals (PRYP) Steering Committee. The PRYP is tasked with planning unique events to grow PRYP membership and improve the attendee experience.

 

A strong believer in giving back to his community, Gary has served on various Boards of Directors, including One Simple Wish, a Trenton-based non-profit that supports foster children and vulnerable families and the George School Children's Center. He also organizes local golf events and triathlons for the Wounded Warrior Project. When he’s not working, Gary can be found on a golf course or spending time with his son, likely reading Dr. Seuss to his son, Sam.

John Capers is the consummate sales professional. John has over 30 years of sales and sales management experience. He began his career at Time, Inc., and subsequently was with Cowles Communication, Chilton Company, and Main Line Media. John has worked in numerous industries including electronic data collection, domestic & international publishing, electronic media, information industries, and the insurance and executive recruitment specialties.

 

John was the Vice President and Group Publisher of Ocean/Trucking/Warehousing Division of Primedia Corporation. In this role he was responsible for the Bottom Line performance of ten (10) profit centers.

 

In recent years John has transitioned to consulting where he can apply his trade from a more senior vantage point. His consulting concentrates on Sales process improvement, Selling Skills, Management Effectiveness and Team Building.

 

In all of his roles, John has been hands on with all creative processes including graphics and writing staff. He has also taken pride in significantly improving the productivity of the Sales Staff as a cohesive unit, which is possibly the biggest asset he brings to Grey Elephant and our clients.
